1. HOw to Jion Files HJSPLIT

1.you’ll Have to Download HJ Split : Click Here Download
2. Extract and donee

HJSplit doesn’t need to be installed. you can run it directly by clicking on Hjsplit.ext. Before you start, Remember that all the parts (.001, .002, .003, .004, etc ) have to be in the same folder, and they have to have the same name but has different extension (.001, .002, .003) or else it won’t work.Make sure you have all the files to join. If one is missing, you will not be able to complete the process…
To join all the parts, open HJSplit and click on ‘Join’. Click on Input File and choose the .001 file
I have a list of files with extensions avi.001, avi.002, avi.003 and that goes on to avi.008
The second wizard screen in the joining .001, .002, … files is where you will point the input file for joining the file parts.
Note that, you will only select the file with extension .001 and the HJ-Split will automatically find the other parts (like .002, .003, .004) if they are in the same folder with .001 file.
After the input file is selected, HJSplit will display the output file, the joined file outcome of the software in the screen in output text area.
By clicking on the Output area, you can change the location of the output file if you want.

Click on the Start button to start joining process.

When the joining splitted files with extensions 001,002,003,….,008,etc finished the HJSplit software will inform you.

Click on the Close button to end the task of joinning spitted files 001,002,003 with HJSplit file splitting program.
I hope you liked HJSplit manual demonstrating how to join files HJSplit divived into parts in smaller sizes.
It is very easy and fast to use HJSplit to join files with 001 extension.

2.FIX CORRUPTED RAR FILES

CRC Errors In RAR Files
First of all, you need to bypass the CRC check when extracting the files. My solution is to completely ignore all the errors.
What you must do is go to WinRAR in the Start Menu. In winrar you click File -> Open and then select the files you want to unrar. Then you click the “Extract To” icon and check the box that says “Keep Broken Files” under miscellaneous. Any CRC error windows that show up during the extraction you can just ignore and close them. The resulting extracted file worked just fine.
The problem with winrar is when you open a broken rar file, it gives you a warning that the rar is broken and rar creates the folder with no file in it. This is the default setting of winrar but you can change it to open broken, corrupted or partially downloaded file (specially media files which you can plan on VLC media player)
This is what you have to do -
1. On the rar file, right click and click on Extract Files …
2. It will show you a window where you can select the folder where the file should be saved. Now select the checkbox where it says Open Broken Files (see the below image)

and click on OK. Now as usual if its a partial file or broken file, winrar will again give you warning, just cancel it. Once the operation gets over, you should see the partial file or files which winrar was able to extract. This tricks works really well on movie files which are broken into parts, you can download the first part of the movie, extract it to see the quality of it and to decide whether you should download the full movie or not. It also works well for multiple files rar achieve as winrar may be able to extract many files.
Unfortunately if there is a single standalone file which is in corrupted rar file, you will be able to get much from it. You can try to repair the rar file but I have never seen it working. Also note that if you have a middle part of the rar, say 2nd or 3rd part of a three part rar archive you won’t be able to get anything as the meta information of every rar file is in the first part.
Edit – You can also try to use 7 Zip software. I have used it many times and it does recover broken zip and rar files. I will make a separate post on 7 zip but felt its worth mentioning it here.

3.How to repair corrupted .rar or .zip files

Sometimes when you extract a .rar or .zip file it says that ‘file is corrupt’. Generally it occurs while compressing the files and when you extract this it says file is corrupt.
So here am telling you how to repair these files so it can become usable again. To do this just follow these steps.
First of all open WinRAR (WinRAR is a software which is used for packing and unpacking of .rar files), then locate the file which is corrupted.
Here just simply click on the file that is corrupted if there are multiple files then hold Ctrl button and click on each file which is corrupt and then just simply press Alt+R, then this screen wil pop up-

Here you have to select that it should treat it as a .rar file or .zip file, select the option .rar if the corrupted file is .rar and select .zip if the corrupted is .zip, after then click ok. After this step the recovery process begins and it identifies all file and recover them.

After this step, when it finishes it shows the file report that which file is corrupted and which one is not and also that the damaged file is recovered.

Now go to the file location where the file was, there you will find a file named “fixed.’file name’”. See the image below

I found it very useful when I was using to extract a file but suddenly it said that some part of these files are corrupt and then this helped to get rid of this problem.

4.Few Tricks To Avoid CRC Errror…

1)I was getting crc errors trying to extract from a multivolume solid rar archive. Tried many repair tools & programs, including latest winrar. even “keeping broken files” didnt work – the files were extracted but were corrupt. then i found a FUNKY program called 7-zip:
www.7-zip.org
It extracted the files with NO PROBLEMS!!! this proved that the
source files were fine all along. Try 7-zip – its free, compresses better and fixes problems that winrar
itself cant fix!….
2)
If can’t fix a corrupted files Try avoiding From the Beginning !!! YES , from my experiences i can tell you only one advise : it tells ( when you try to download any files , do not try to divide these files by using the option at your download manager under max connection 8, 16 etc !!! but only use 1 connection ) .
Go to Internet Download Manager -> Options -> Connections-> Default Max Num Connection number 1 …..
3)
This actually worked for me. Really pretty simple:
1. Install VLC
Here’s the link:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
2. Start to unrar (extract) AVI files.
3. As the files are extracting, open the started AVI file with VLC. When VLC is open it will determine the
AVI file is corrupted and ask you if you want to repair. Say yes and the full AVI file will be built.
The whole repair process will take a minute or so.
I was able to play the completed AVI file with no problem with Windows Media Player. I then made DVD files with “ConvertX to DVD” and then burned with Nero.
Just when I thought the AVI Winrar files were too corrupt to work, this solution worked like a charm.
4)
1. Start extraction from the first part.
2. Immediately go to the folder where its is being extracted. You will see a .avi file being created.
3. As soon as RAR encounters the corrupt file, it may delete this ‘temporary file’ – so as soon as u know the corrupt archive part is about to be extracted (maybe a few minutes more), make a copy of it in Explorer. You need to be very agile in this step and it may take a few tries.
4. Now you have a incomplete avi. If its a DivX file, use DivX fix, a utility to fix incomplete avis.

GUIDE ABOUT MOVIE FORMATS

1.VCD
VCD is an mpeg1 based format, with a constant bitrate of 1150kbit at a resolution of 352×240 (NTCS). VCDs are generally used for lower quality transfers (CAM/TS/TC/Screener(VHS)/TVrip(analogue) in order to make smaller file sizes, and fit as much on a single disc as possible. Both VCDs and SVCDs are timed in minutes, rather than MB, so when looking at an mpeg, it may appear larger than the disc capacity, and in reality u can fit 74min on a CDR74.
2.SVCD
SVCD is an mpeg2 based (same as DVD) which allows variable bit-rates of up to 2500kbits at a resolution of 480×480 (NTSC) which is then decompressed into a 4:3 aspect ratio when played back. Due to the variable bit-rate, the length you can fit on a single CDR is not fixed, but generally between 35-60 Mins are the most common. To get a better SVCD encode using variable bit-rates, it is important to use multiple “passes”. this takes a lot longer, but the results are far clearer.
3.XVCD/XSVCD
These are basically VCD/SVCD that don’t obey the “rules”. They are both capable of much higher resolutions and bit-rates, but it all depends on the player to whether the disc can be played. X(S)VCD are total non-standards, and are usually for home-ripping by people who don’t intend to release them.
4.DivX / XviD
DivX is a format designed for multimedia platforms. It uses two codecs, one low motion, one high motion. most older films were encoded in low motion only, and they have problems with high motion too. A method known as SBC (Smart Bit-rate Control) was developed which switches codecs at the encoding stage, making a much better print. The format is Ana orphic and the bit-rate/resolution are interchangeable. Due to the higher processing power required, and the different codecs for playback, its unlikely we’ll see a DVD player capable of play DivX for quite a while, if at all. There have been players in development which are supposedly capable, but nothing has ever arisen. The majority of PROPER DivX rips (not Re-Encs) are taken from DVDs, and generally up to 2hours in good quality is possible per disc. Various codecs exist, most popular being the original Divx3.11a and the new XviD codecs.

MOVIE SOURCES
1.CAM
A cam is a theater rip usually done with a digital video camera. A mini tripod is sometimes used, but a lot of the time this wont be possible, so the camera make shake. Also seating placement isn’t always idle, and it might be filmed from an angle. If cropped properly, this is hard to tell unless there’s text on the screen, but a lot of times these are left with triangular borders on the top and bottom of the screen. Sound is taken from the onboard microphone of the camera, and especially in comedies, laughter can often be heard during the film. Due to these factors picture and sound quality are usually quite poor, but sometimes we’re lucky, and the theater will be fairly empty and a fairly clear signal will be heard.
2.TELESYNC (TS)
A telesync is the same spec as a CAM except it uses an external audio source (most likely an audio jack in the chair for hard of hearing people). A direct audio source does not ensure a good quality audio source, as a lot of background noise can interfere. A lot of the times a telesync is filmed in an empty cinema or from the projection booth with a professional camera, giving a better picture quality. Quality ranges drastically, check the sample before downloading the full release. A high percentage of Telesyncs are CAMs that have been mislabeled.
3.SCREENER (SCR)
A pre VHS tape, sent to rental stores, and various other places for promotional use. A screener is supplied on a VHS tape, and is usually in a 4:3 (full screen) a/r, although letterboxed screeners are sometimes found. The main draw back is a “ticker” (a message that scrolls past at the bottom of the screen, with the copyright and anti-copy telephone number). Also, if the tape contains any serial numbers, or any other markings that could lead to the source of the tape, these will have to be blocked, usually with a black mark over the section. This is sometimes only for a few seconds, but unfortunately on some copies this will last for the entire film, and some can be quite big. Depending on the equipment used, screener quality can range from excellent if done from a MASTER copy, to very poor if done on an old VHS recorder thru poor capture equipment on a copied tape. Most screeners are transferred to VCD, but a few attempts at SVCD have occurred, some looking better than others.
4.DVD-SCREENER (DVDscr)
Same premise as a screener, but transferred off a DVD. Usually letterbox , but without the extras that a DVD retail would contain. The ticker is not usually in the black bars, and will disrupt the viewing. If the ripper has any skill, a DVDscr should be very good. Usually transferred to SVCD or DivX/XviD.
5.R5
This is fairly new movie format. Basically the same as DVD Screener – this kind of release is legal DVD released in Russia to decrease the level of pirated movies in this country. Retail is rushed out by the studio, so there is little to no cleanup of the film after the telecine process. As a result, you can see some scratches, hairs or other mess on the picture, but you will hardly notice it while watching. External English audio is often used, as these are supplied with Russian sound by default.
6.DVDRip
A copy of the final released DVD. If possible this is released PRE retail (for example, Star Wars episode 2) again, should be excellent quality. DVDrips are released in SVCD and DivX/XviD.
7.WORKPRINT (WP)
A workprint is a copy of the film that has not been finished. It can be missing scenes, music, and quality can range from excellent to very poor. Some WPs are very different from the final print (Men In Black is missing all the aliens, and has actors in their places) and others can contain extra scenes (Jay and Silent Bob) . WPs can be nice additions to the collection once a good quality final has been obtained.
8.DivX Re-Enc
A DivX re-enc is a film that has been taken from its original VCD source, and re-encoded into a small DivX file. Most commonly found on file sharers, these are usually labeled something like Film.Name.Group(1of2) etc. Common groups are SMR and TND. These aren’t really worth downloading, unless you’re that unsure about a film u only want a 200mb copy of it. Generally avoid.
